NOTE 2021: The PDF patterns for this quilt are no longer available so the links to them have been deleted. I’ve left the other instructions in case you still have the original patterns.

Here are the next two African Huts for my African Village Quilt.  Once again, the 2 huts are the same design but the doors face slightly different directions.  The doorway on the hut on the left looks different but that due to the pattern of the fabric. The door really is just a rectangle.

This design is slightly harder to make than Hut 1 due to the slight narrowing of the hut walls as they go upward. Make sure when you are cutting fabric for those background wedges that you check to make sure you have enough fabric to cover the top of the pattern piece when you flip to over after sewing the seam.  It's such a small angle change so it shouldn't a problem.

I'll post the pattern for Hut 2 on Friday, August 8, 2014.  The rest of the pattern will follow next week so you have lots of time if you need to find fabric and for sewing the first 4 blocks of this quilt.

Please post a comment to let me know if you are making this quilt and any comments you have about this pattern.  Thanks!
