Economy Block Quilt with Birdhouse Fabric Border--WIP

by Judy Tucker

I finished this quilt top one afternoon last week.  The sun was shining and I decided to get a photo while the weather was good.  I finished pressing the top and used a fur-remover tape roller to remove the loose threads on it's surface.  I looked up.  The sky was dark grey, the wind was blowing and it was snowing!  15 minutes later, it was all over. The sun came back out and it remained windy--but I got my photos.  Winter in New England!  Go figure.

I found the this birdhouse fabric, "Country Folk Wurk [sic] by Cranston Village, while this quilt was still in the "thinking" stage.  The steep roofs on the birdhouses were the inspiration for using the Economy Block as the focus block in this quilt.

I found a great backing fabric on-line at Connecting Threads.  This project is on hold until it arrives!
