Red and White (mostly) Baby Quilt. Approx 41 inches square.
I have a little stash of reproduction 1930s fabrics and decided it was time to use some of them.
I seem to be focused on half square triangle (HST) quilts at the moment. Looking back at my blog I found quilts that had a diamond built into the pattern. That seemed like a great way to add the contemporary red and white bird fabric. It’s not a 30’s print but it plays well with them!
I opened Electric Quilt 8 and designed the quilt above. Some of my fabrics had been used so I only had strips. So I chose the cut the base squares at 7 1/2 inches. That gave me a 6 1/2 inch square which finishes in the quilt as a 6 inch block.
The binding is baby blue because that color is in some of the prints and is in the red and cream 30s print I used for the backing. It gives the quilt a nice pop!
I love this one. It is reminds me of a bandana! So much fun!
Here are some of my other HST with build int diamonds quilts.
